Willow House – Plaistow

Redevelopment of a site at the on Plaistow Rd, directly opposite Plaistow Station and adjacent to Network Rail line. It involves demolition of the existing warehouse with and construction of a 7 storey residential block of flats with a single level basement for car parking. As the site is adjacent to Network Rail lines, the design had to incorporate their restrictive clearances, methods of working, possessions, safety issues etc. To minimise the effect upon the railway, the existing wall of the old warehouse was retained to form a safe boundary. The lift core was jumped first with a mobile crane; the lift shaft would then house the tower crane to build the in-situ concrete frame.
